When you bring your European or luxury vehicle to us, we'll need some basics - your name, phone number, email, and address. Pretty standard stuff.

We also keep records about your car - VIN number, make, model, year, service history with us, and any diagnostic codes we pull from your vehicle's computer. This helps us track what's been done and what might need attention down the road.

If you're paying by card, we process that info but don't actually store your full card details on our end. That goes through our payment processor who's way better at keeping that stuff secure than we'd ever be.

Here's the deal - we use your info to do our job. That means scheduling appointments, calling you when your car's ready, sending invoices, and keeping track of what we've worked on.

Sometimes we'll shoot you a reminder about maintenance that's coming up based on your vehicle's history. Like if you're due for an oil change or if there's a recall we think you should know about.

We might also use your email to send occasional updates about our shop, but honestly we're not big on spamming people. You can opt out anytime and we won't get our feelings hurt.

Your vehicle data helps us diagnose issues faster next time you come in. When we've got a history of what codes your BMW threw last year, it makes troubleshooting way more efficient.

We're not some massive corporation with a huge IT department, but we take security seriously. Your data's stored on secure servers with encryption, and only our staff who actually need access to do their jobs can see it.

Our shop management system is password-protected and we use reputable software that's regularly updated. We're not perfect, but we do our best to keep things locked down.

Physical paperwork with your info gets filed away in locked cabinets. We're not leaving invoices lying around on the workbench where anyone can see 'em.

We're not in the business of selling your info. Period. That's just not our thing.

The only times we might share your data:

If you explicitly ask us to delete everything and you're not coming back, we'll clear out what we legally can. Some financial records we've gotta keep for 7 years because that's what Canadian tax law requires.

Marketing emails and contact info get purged if you unsubscribe or if we haven't heard from you in a really long time.

We're based in British Columbia, Canada, so we follow PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) and BC's privacy legislation.

This means we're legally required to protect your personal info and only use it for legitimate business purposes. We take that seriously even if some of this privacy policy sounds casual - the legal obligations definitely aren't.

If you've got concerns about how we're handling your data, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Though honestly, we'd rather you talk to us first so we can sort it out directly.

We might update this privacy policy from time to time if laws change or if we start doing something different with data. If there's a major change, we'll let you know via email or by posting a notice on our website.

Minor tweaks and clarifications might just get updated here without a big announcement. The "last updated" date at the bottom will always reflect when we made changes.

We're not gonna pull any sneaky stuff where we suddenly start doing something totally different with your info without telling you first.
